vanity
1 John 2:16 “For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.”

Hear this truth: you do not have to live at the mercy of the world’s expectations. You do not have to chase its approval. You do not have to bend under the weight of its demands. God is not calling you to be seen by the world — He is calling you to be known by Him.
The following interpretations of scripture can add to your shield against vanity. Jesus teaches us to store treasure in heaven, not in the temporary shine of this world.
